About Us
Elton R Construction is a local, family owned and operated business based in Boulder, Colorado. Our mission is to be environmentally aware, reliable and customer oriented.
Elton was born in 1975 in New Zealand with a father that had already been in construction for most of his life. He was exposed to construction from a very young age, but it was not until he was nearly 20 that he took it on full-time.
In New Zealand, a carpenter is required to apprentice for 5 years, learning all aspects of construction before earning the certification of carpentry. Elton completed his apprentice and certification in 1998. During this time, he had a very diverse construction experience, including architectural houses on the side of hills starting at the foundation stage to installing make-up counters in shopping centers. He enjoyed all the aspects of construction as well as customer service.
Then Elton decided to move to Sydney, Australia and work for myself. He began with working on the 2000 Olympics mountain biking event then went into and independent business working with a variety of designers, builders and clients.
Elton came to Boulder, Colorado for a sporting adventure and ended up feeling so at home that he decided to stay. He has found that people have appreciated the fact that he has a broad range of skills, from demolition to custom fine woodworking. Elton now lives a great life in Boulder thanks to his wife, dog and baby as well as all the amazing people who have encouraged him. Of course the sport and healthy lifestyle that Boulder offers makes for the perfect place to live.
